Plans and Feature Entitlements

Last updated: 2026-07-09 Summary:

  • Your plan decides which features you can use. eKapital calls this your entitlements.
  • Features you don’t have are either hidden from the sidebar or shown with a lock and an Upgrade required prompt.
  • There’s no separate add-on store — capability comes bundled with each plan, so you unlock more by moving up a tier.

When you sign in, eKapital reads your company’s plan and works out which features you’re entitled to. That entitlement set drives what you see:

  • Hidden in the sidebar. Modules your plan doesn’t include (for example Payroll, Inventory, or Multi-currency on a lower tier) simply don’t appear in the menu. This keeps the navigation to what you can actually use.
  • Locked on the page. If you reach a gated feature by a direct link, you see a locked card: “{Feature} requires a plan upgrade”, with the line “Your current plan does not include this feature. Upgrade to unlock it.” and a See upgrade options button. That opens a Plan upgrade required prompt with Upgrade now (which takes you to the plan picker) or Maybe later.

Nothing is broken when you hit one of these — it’s your plan telling you the feature lives on a higher tier.

Plans range from a free tier up through Solo, Plus, and Pro, to Enterprise. An accounting firm doesn’t buy a separate plan for its practice: the practice workspace is free, and every client book under it carries one of those same plans, resolved at that book’s own level. Higher tiers add capability along two axes:

  • Which features you can use — for example, payroll, inventory and stock, fixed assets, multi-currency, custom roles, the audit log, jobs and projects, advanced reporting, and the Computerized Accounting System (CAS) books all switch on at higher tiers. Which BIR forms you can prepare also depends on your plan.
  • How much you can do — numeric limits such as the number of companies, the number of users per company, and monthly receipt allowances rise as you move up.

The exact feature-by-plan matrix and current prices are the single source of truth on the Pricing page — this concept page explains the mechanism, not the numbers, so it never goes stale.

There is no à-la-carte add-on marketplace today. You don’t buy individual features one at a time — each plan is a bundle, and you get more by upgrading the plan. If you only need one gated feature, compare the plans that include it and pick the lowest tier that covers you.

  • “The feature vanished from my menu.” It didn’t break — your plan doesn’t include it, so it’s hidden. Check Pricing for the tier that adds it.
  • “Upgrade required, but I’m the accountant, not the owner.” Only the Owner can change the plan. Point them at Manage your subscription and plan.
  • “I upgraded but still don’t see it.” Entitlements refresh right after checkout completes. If a gated page is still locked, reload once — the sidebar and page gates react to the new plan automatically.
