Read Your Inventory Reports

Last updated: 2026-07-09 Summary:

  • One page, three views: Valuation (what your stock is worth), Stock Status (what’s on hand vs available), and Low Stock (what to reorder).
  • Filter by category and warehouse; export any view to CSV.
  • Values use each product’s average cost — the same figure behind the stock card and the gross-profit reports.

This is an advanced-inventory feature — it needs a plan that includes inventory tracking (Pro and above — see Pricing) and the View inventory permission.

Go to Inventory → Reports. A low-stock banner at the top tells you at a glance how many products are below their reorder point. Use the view selector to switch between the three reports, and the category and warehouse filters to narrow any of them. Each view has its own Export CSV button.

The Valuation view lists each product with its quantity on hand, average cost, and total value, grouped by category with a subtotal per category and a grand total at the bottom. This is the number to use for the inventory-asset line on your books.

  • Total value = quantity on hand × average cost.
  • Export gives you inventory-valuation.csv with every product row plus the grand total.

Stock Status — what’s on hand vs available

Section titled “Stock Status — what’s on hand vs available”

The Stock Status view shows, per product and warehouse: quantity on hand, reserved (committed to orders), available (on hand minus reserved), the reorder point, and a status tag:

  • In Stock (green)
  • Low Stock (orange) — at or below the reorder point
  • Out of Stock (red) — nothing on hand

Use this to answer “can I actually sell this right now?” — available, not on-hand, is what’s free to promise.

The Low Stock view lists only products at or below their reorder point, with the shortage and a suggested order quantity. If nothing is low, you’ll see “No products are below their reorder point.” Export it to hand a purchase list to whoever does your buying.

  • The reports are empty or a product is missing. These read from stock levels, so a product only appears once it has movement (a receipt from a bill, an opening balance, or an adjustment). Set up inventory products and receive stock first — see Set up products & inventory.
  • No reorder point, no low-stock warning. Stock Status and Low Stock rely on each product’s reorder point. A product without one never flags as low — set reorder points on the products you want to watch.
  • Values are at average cost. The valuation and margins use weighted-average cost, not a fixed price. If a value looks off, open the product’s stock card to see the cost layers behind it.
