Connect Your PayMongo Account

You collect online payments through your own PayMongo merchant account — connect it once in Merchant Settings.
Keys are encrypted at rest; after saving, only a masked key and the last test result are ever shown.
Disconnecting soft-disables online payments but keeps the row for audit — reconnect any time.

PayMongo is currently the only supported payment provider. You need the payments:manage-methods permission to change these settings.

Connect

Go to Payments → Merchant Settings.
In the PayMongo Connection card, paste your Secret Key (sk_test_… or sk_live_…) and your Webhook Signing Secret (whsk_…).
Set Mode to Test or Live. Test mode uses PayMongo sandbox keys, so no real charges occur.
Click Save & Connect. The secret inputs clear immediately — the keys are stored encrypted and never displayed again.

Test the connection

Click Test Connection at any time. eKapital calls PayMongo with the key you typed (or, if the box is blank, the saved key) and reports success or failure. The Connection Status card then shows the state, the mode, a masked secret key, and the Last Tested time with its result.

Set a fee-posting account

Online payments carry a PayMongo processing fee. In the Payment Processing Fee Account card, pick the expense account those fees should post to, then click Save Fee Account. When left unset, fees default to the seeded Payment Processing Fees account. You can set the fee account before the gateway is even connected.

Disconnect

Click Disconnect and confirm. This soft-disables online payments — customers can no longer pay invoices online — but the configuration row is retained for audit. Your keys stay encrypted; reconnect later by saving again.

Where people get tripped up

Wrong webhook signing secret. Payments will complete on PayMongo but eKapital rejects the webhook (fail-closed on signature), so the invoice never flips to Paid. Re-paste the signing secret from your PayMongo dashboard and re-test.
Left in Test mode for a real customer. Test-mode keys can’t take live charges. Switch Mode to Live and save your live keys before sharing a real pay link.
Expecting to see the key again. By design, the full key is shown only while you type it. To rotate, paste a new key and save; leaving the box blank keeps the current one.
