eKapital for Accounting Firms

Last updated: 2026-09-12 Summary:

  • A firm sits above its client books: one login, every client’s company underneath it.
  • Assignment is what gives a Manager or Member a client’s books; Owners and Admins reach every book.
  • Your practice workspace is free; each client book is priced at its own plan, paid by your firm or by the client.

New to eKapital? These pages are the operating manual for a firm that is already set up. If you are still deciding, see the partner programme for firms — what the free practice workspace includes, what each client book costs, and how the discount works.

In Partner mode, your firm is the account; each client you keep books for is a company (a client book) under it. You sign in once and move between client books from the company switcher — no separate logins, no password spreadsheet.

Inside a client book, eKapital works as it does for any business on the platform — the same ledger, AR/AP, payroll, BIR forms, and reports covered elsewhere in these docs — with the features that book’s own plan carries. A client on Solo gets what Solo includes; a client on Pro gets what Pro includes. Partner mode adds the layer above the books: the roster of clients, who on your team can see which book, the cross-client dashboard, and one invoice for the books you pay for.

  • Many client books, one login — switch between client companies without signing out. See Add and manage client books.
  • A firm dashboard — the exceptions that need attention and a financial rollup across the clients you can reach, in one view. See The firm dashboard.
  • Staff assigned per client — assignment is what grants a Manager or Member a client’s books, and removing it takes the access away. Owners and Admins reach every book under the firm. See Assign staff to client books.
  • One consolidated invoice — the client books your firm pays for arrive on a single monthly invoice, itemised per book and discounted by your partner band. Books the client pays for directly are billed to them. See Firm billing.
Role Can
Owner Everything — billing, staff, adding and removing client books, and every client book under the firm
Admin Staff and assignments, and every client book under the firm. Adding a book, migrating one in, releasing one, and changing who pays for it additionally need billing access, which the Owner grants separately
Manager The client books they’re assigned to, plus the firm dashboard over those books
Member The client books they’re assigned to, plus the firm dashboard over those books

At the firm level, Manager and Member carry the same abilities — neither can manage staff, books, or billing. What separates them is the role each is given inside a client book when you assign them to it, where the usual company roles (Owner, Admin, Accountant, Viewer) apply — see Invite and manage users.
