Online Payments Reference

Last updated: 2026-07-09 Summary:

  • PayMongo is the only supported provider today; you connect your own merchant account.
  • Customers pay by card, GCash, GrabPay, or Maya on a hosted checkout reached from a public invoice link.
  • The amount collected is the EWT-net balance when the invoice is subject to withholding; processing fees post to your fee account.

Reached through PayMongo hosted checkout:

Method Notes
Card Credit / debit cards
GCash E-wallet
GrabPay E-wallet
Maya E-wallet

PayMongo is the only supported provider. There is no multi-gateway, Stripe, or white-label option today; the customer page is branded “Powered by eKapital.”

Surface Where Who uses it
Merchant Settings Payments → Merchant Settings You — connect / test / disconnect PayMongo, set the fee account
Payouts & Settlement Payments → Payouts You — sync payouts, true up fees, record bank settlement
Public invoice page /public/invoice/{token} Your customer — view, download PDF, pay

Access is gated by permissions: payments:read for status and payout reads; payments:manage-methods for connect, disconnect, fee account, sync, and settle.

Status Meaning for online payment
Draft / Void / Written-off Not shareable — no pay link, page returns not-found
Sent / Viewed Shareable and payable (once merchant enabled)
Partial / Overdue Shareable and payable for the remaining balance
Paid Link stays live as a receipt; Pay button hidden

A pay link can be minted for any shareable status. The Pay button additionally requires the merchant gateway to be connected and enabled.

Field Values
Payout status Pending, In Transit, Paid, Failed
Bank settlement Unsettled, Settled
Covered-payment fee status Captured, Pending, Not Applicable
  • Amount collected. For an invoice not subject to EWT, the customer pays the balance due. When the invoice is subject to expanded withholding tax, the checkout collects the EWT-net amount (balance minus the computed EWT).
  • On reconciliation the payment posts cash, the creditable-withholding-tax (CWT) receivable for the EWT portion, and clears the receivable. See How online payment reconciliation works.
  • Processing fee. When PayMongo reports the fee, it posts to your configured fee account (default Payment Processing Fees) and is marked Captured. When it isn’t reported yet, the payment still reconciles with the fee Pending and is trued up later from the Payouts page.
  • Clearing account. Reconciled cash lands in your configured deposit account, or Undeposited Funds if none is set, until the bank settlement is recorded.
